gallery
A warm welcome. Before entering the gallery, we invite you to take a moment to settle your body and mind.
After viewing the art, we invite you to share your impressions on the sharing wall so the singular experience can be widened to be a communal one. Openness, curiosity, and discovery are encouraged . The hope is that the artist’s moments of being in nature can nourish and inspire your own moments of BE-ingness.
Each week for one year, the artist will add a new Haiku and Embodied Expression to the gallery.
- Place both feet fully on the ground, so the soles of both feet make a solid connection to the ground
- Feel your sitting bones make full contact with whatever you are sitting on
- Feel yourself sink deeper into the ground through your feet and sitting bones
- Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly
- Tune into the rhythm of your own breath under your hands
- Notice the quality of your breath as it flows in and out of your body
- Take 3 long exhales, stretching them longer than your inhales
- Imagine a big, bright, expansive blue sky with no clouds
- Feel as if you are that sky, feeling spacious and open in your body and mind
- Close your eyes for a few moments and try to sink deeper into that feeling of being the big, bright, expansive blue sky. Open you eyes when you feel ready
- Relax your hands to a normal resting place
- You are now ready to enter the gallery
