a being in nature
a being in nature traces and shares the artist’s direct experience of being in and with nature. For a few rich moments in time she soaks in the innate sense of wholeness one can only feel when engaged with the natural world.
She translates these visceral experiences into poetry and movement. She uses the elegant Japanese art form of the Haiku to bring our attention to the subtle and oft overlooked graceful nuances of nature. Each original Haiku is accompanied by an Embodied Expression in which the artist explores improvisational movement inspired and guided by the words, feeling, energy, and sentiments of the poems, to reveal a kind of poetry in motion. The project is a contemplation of one being's experience in nature and at the same time it shines a light on nature's effect on one's state of BE-ing.
